Welcome to Asgartha

"During a planetary cataclysm now known as the Confluence, a magical storm swept over the world, merging the imaginary world and our own and transforming everything in its path. A few secluded human communities managed to survive and laid the foundations of a new civilization on the peninsula that would become known as Asgartha.
After a few hundred years, with peace and prosperity finally secured, humanity has decided to venture beyond the frontiers of its home. Six leading Factions have chosen their heroes to lead courageous expeditions beyond the gates, where the Tumult, a remnant of the Confluence of old, still mutates everything in its wake."

500 years ago our Universe smashed into the realms of Imagination, now the survivors must work together to rebuild civilisation, working alongside characters from myths and legends as well as historical and imaginative figures. Rather than fight against each other, the aim of Altered is to race against your opponents in an adventure. There are six factions to choose from, each with different perks.

An Accessible Trading Card Game

We like the fact that the makers of Altered are willing to listen to players in order to make this game accessible as possible. The concept feels like a nice combination of board games and popular trading card games and this is what makes Altered stand out from its peers. The creators have four core values at the heart of the game, values which they hope will make players feel as at home in the Altered universe as possible. These values are:

• Universality    – Altered is a trading Card Game for everyone, and although     gameplay is as simple and easy to understand as possible, the lore of the universe is deep and as involved as the player wants it to be.

Get ready for some Stunning Artwork

The artwork in Altered is particularly breathtaking. You can definitely see the influences of Miyazaki's work and Studio Ghibli, and we like the Dixit-esque illustrations that adorn each card.

Cards can either be Common, rare or unique. Each card is algorithmically generated meaning all cards have different stats and mana costs, every card is considered ‘unique’ meaning that a deck is completely one of a kind.

In a world of established Trading Card Games, such as Pokemon and Magic, and newer games, such as Disney's Lorcana, Altered looks to have enough different Mechanics to its arsenal to make it stand out from its peers.
