Ascend into the night sky in Darkwing Blast!

We have another Yu-Gi-Oh! release next week, hot off the heels of the Legend of the Crystal Beasts Structure Deck, in the Core Booster set, Darkwing Blast! This 100-card set contains new Blackwing cards to boost the popular monsters, two intriguing new archetypes in Bystial and Kashtira, as well as support for many more! So, let's get into some of the cards to look out for in Darkwing Blast!

First up we've got the new Bystial archetype (known as Byssted in the OCG which is quite fun!) made up of LIGHT and DARK Dragon monsters. The Level 6 Dragons banish resources in order to special summon themselves from your hand, which is real nice! The Bystial Lubellion (pictured above) is a Level 8 monster in the archetype which can be sent from hand to GY to search any Bystial monster. Also, this card can search your Branded Continuous Spell/Trap cards and immediately play them while this card is on the field, working with some nice synergy here! The other new one here are the Kashtira archetype, new Psychic monsters based around special summoning themselves if you control no monsters, and banishing your opponent's cards face down. Kashtira Fenrir (pictured above) can search a Kashtira monster from your hand, making it a really powerful card in this theme! Of course, this set gives us new Blackwing monsters too! Black-Winged Assault Dragon is not only the cover card, but very cool too! This card has 3200 ATK, inflicts 700 damage to your opponent each time your opponent activates a monster effect, and can be tributed to destroy all cards on the field once it reaches 4 Black Feather counters! There's a load of additional support in this set too for Blackwing, so be sure to pick it up if you love them!

Muckracker From the Underworld is the latest monster in the From the Undeworld series. This protects your monsters, allowing you to tribute your Fiend monsters instead should they be targeted for destruction. Muckracker also lets you special summon your Fiends from the GY! Worldsea Dragon Zealantis is another new monster from Darkwing Blast with a really interesting effect! It can banish all monsters on the field, then return them to their owners' fields in face-up or face-down in defense position! In addition to that, during the Battle Phase, Zealantis can destroy cards on the field equal to the number of co-linked monsters on the field, encouraging the player to get linking! And finally, we're looking at a spectacular-looking spell card from this set in Spellbound! It's effect is pretty simple, stopping your opponent's face-up monsters from being tributed or used as material for Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link summoning until the end of the turn! I'm super excited to see how this one affects gameplay!
