Step into Christmas with the 2024 Lego Advent Calendar selection!

It feels wrong to be thinking about Christmas when the sun is (supposedly) shining down on us. However, here at Chaos Cards, we are already preparing for the Christmas countdown. Lucky for us, Lego has us covered once again. ‘Wahoo’ I hear you say. This year we have not one, not two, but six (!) amazing Advent Calendars for elves, adults, and children alike. Read ahead to find out more about this year's selection of ‘bricktacular’ sets.

Christmas Countdown

Smol

This September sees the annually anticipated release of Lego Advent Calendars, and we feel justified in saying it looks set to be rather impressive this year. Excitingly, 2024 sees the release of not just the standard Lego City, Lego Friends, Star Wars and Harry Potter variations, but in addition, there is the adorable Disney Princess set and a Spiderman-based Marvel set to look forward to. As always, there are the traditional 24 doors to open daily in the run-up to Christmas, with a fun gift behind each one. Let’s have a look at what’s on offer from Lego this year. (Rest assured, it looks to be full-on festive fun!)

Every year we have the fun-packed Lego Friends Advent Calendar (42634) and Lego City Advent Calendar (60436) to look forward to. This year's releases look to be even more fun than in previous years. Both sets come packed with everything needed to create a Christmassy adventure, using either your imagination or the, now traditional, fold-out display box. The 2024 Lego Friends set comes with 5 mini-figures, accessories, and buildable activities including a catapult, snowboard and even tiny marshmallow toasting. (Who doesn’t love toasty marshmallows?!) The Lego City calendar contains traditional, seasonal mini-builds to make a snowy wintery scene for Santa and Mrs Claus to embark on an adventure with their pet dog. The cute Lego Friends set consists of 272 pieces, whilst the traditional Lego City set consists of 195 pieces. They are both great sets for adding a festive feel to your existing Lego worlds.

What would Christmas be without the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar? (75395) The calendar for 2024 includes a selection of iconic vehicles, alongside the regular mini-builds familiar from a galaxy far, far away. We are looking forward to opening the festive Leia and Luke doors, as well as, fan favourite Ahsoka Tano and the Super Battle Droid Mini figure. This year is a particularly interesting variation of the calendar, as it looks to celebrate 25 years of Lego Star Wars. (Who can believe that it’s been around for that long? 1999 only feels like yesterday!) We are excited about the mini-build of Darth Vader's castle and a fun little throwback to the first Star Wars video game. This year's set is perfect for acting out your favourite intergalactic battle scenes with its 368 pieces of space filled fun to liven up the Winter blues.

76293 box5 v29 smol 3

The Marvel themed advent calendar (76293) for 2024 features everyone's favourite superhero, a certain friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. This year's calendar contains everything you need to  protect New York City from the Sandman and his Christmas gift catapult. Included with the Manhattan set calendar are 2 mini cars and festive accessories from within the Spider-Man Universe.  And as if we didn’t feel spoilt enough, this year sees Spidey, the Green Goblin, Ghost Spider and Venom minifigures set to tingle your Spidey - senses and keep you occupied throughout the month of December. Safe to say, we are very excited to uncover the Christmas Jumper-wearing Miles Morales mini-figure amongst this year's 246 pieces.

This year's Harry Potter advent calendar (76438) takes us back to Hogwarts for the festive season. Minifigures of Harry Potter himself, Susan Bones, Professor Flitwick, and Hedwig hide behind the doors of the 2024 calendar, ready for some festive, magical fun. Each of the four Hogwarts houses includes seasonal accessories such as a Christmas tree and Crackers (here’s hoping the jokes aren't awful!) as well as 2 collectible Portraits to adorn the halls of the legendary school. This year's calendar consists of 301 pieces to help you reenact a Christmas at Hogwarts in all its glory.

Finally, the Lego Disney Advent Calendar (43253) is a perfect addition to the current run of Christmas Countdowns! As a huge Disney fan, I am very happy about this release. This set contains Lego Disney Micro Doll figures, previously seen in the Lego Disney Storybook Adventures. These dolls are slightly smaller than the Lego Friends iterations, but fit nicely alongside them, enabling play across all Lego sets. Elsa, Tiana, Ariel, Moana, and Mirabel lead the way in this enchanting set, along with the help of Pua, Snowgie, and baby Sven. This premium buildable playset looks set to provide hours of imaginative play to both Disney and Lego fans alike. The Lego Disney Advent Calendar consists of 254 pieces of whimsical adventure-based play.

Every (Snowy) Brick Tells A Story

The Chaos Cards team are firm believers that Lego advent calendars are always a great gift option for the Christmas countdown. We love that the calendars contain fun and recognisable characters, accessories and mini-builds exclusive to each set. I don’t know about you, but we love the anticipation of opening the door and discovering the goodies lying behind. The added addition of the fold-out box to create a fun play scene in which you can display, play or re-enact favourite scenes is a fun little perk.

We think that the Calendars provide Festive fun for both young and old Lego fans alike! What do you think? Is there an Advent Calendar you are particularly looking forward to this year or will you stick with the iconic Lego City version in 2024? Let us know in the comments or over on our socials @chaoscards- we love to hear from you!
