The next evolution of Digimon!
Written by Jonnii Small - Mar 12 2021
This week we’ve got the release of Digimon’s 1.5 Booster Set, and within this set are the rest of the cards from BT-01, BT-02 & BT-03 from the Japanese release of Digimon. With that being said, there are a ton of fantastic cards to help boost every single colour in this release, so let’s have a look at some!
Now, the Omnimon in Set 1 was probably one of the best cards in the release and Omnimon Alter-S lives up to the hype of the first one! With some of the highest DP in the game so far, as well as some beautifully destructive digivolving effects, added to that the ability to make itself unblockable, this beast of a Digimon is truly awe-inspiring! Red has a lot of fantastic cards in this set, one of which is BlitzGreymon! This card gives you the opportunity to get more bits into your opponent’s trash, as well as having piercing and a high power level!
Green had a pretty interesting first set, and with some big cards in this set (like the massive Imperialdramon Dragon Mode!) they look set to make a bigger impact! Flymon is part of that, coming in for free after a Security Check, and as usual, free things are great! Goldramon plays into Blue’s ‘unsuspend’ strategy really well and isn’t too expensive either all things considered which can definitely help fulfill your combos!
Mixing both Purple and Yellow, Mastemon plays into both, allowing you to get out a Level 4 or lower Digimon from your trash for free! That coupled with a decent DP makes this a great add to either colour! Speaking of Yellow, Glorious Burst looks hella expensive, but is reduced in cost for each Yellow Tamer you have out! All of this to reduce a Digimon’s DP by a whopping 12000, making even the biggest of Digimon easy to get over!
And finishing off with a couple of spectacular Black cards, starting with Craniamon! With a big DP, Blocker and the ability to make all of your Blockers ‘undeletable’ by effects, Craniamon plays into the full-on Blocker strategy really well! CresGarurumon plays more to the Reboot side of Black, allowing you to potentially get out a Black or Red Digimon of Level 5 or less for free!
With all of these Digimon and so much more, Set 1.5 brings a lot more variety and fun to the Digimon Trading Card Game! At the minute, we don’t have any more of 1.5 up for pre-order, but we do have the Starter Decks for Red, Blue and Yellow, as well as pre-orders for future releases!
