In Foundations of Metropolis you will create the city of your dreams! Plan and Build to become the greatest Architect in this elegant and intuitive city-building board game, designed by the award-winning Emerson Matsuuchi.

Over three rounds of play, you will compete to be the greatest architect in your city by purchasing the deeds to empty lots and constructing your new buildings on them. More complex buildings require more lots, but will bring you even greater prestige. The player with the most prestige is appointed Grand Architect!

Featuring the same “take out of the box” and go setup as the original Foundations of Rome. Each player gets a player board with all of their buildings tiles.

On a player’s turn they select from purchasing a new lot, building a new building in the shared city, or collecting income!

Players collect points at the end of each round based on the population and commerce they have brought to the city as well as gaining glory for civic buildings that score not only based on their own buildings, but those of their opponents!

With a quick setup time and easy to learn to rules you will be on your way to achieving prestige within Metropolis in no time!

Great game... easy to learn, mixture of random cards/plots to start with, then you plan your purchases and builds. Played with 2 and 3 players so far. Great table presence and good fun, also its easy to put away and store as it all fits together and is held in place by plastic trays... Highly recommend.

Foundations of Metropolis is the wallet friendly version of F of Rome but with no loss of gameplay. The quality of the game pieces is still very good and the gameplay is so smooth and intuitive. I would recommend this to almost anyone there is room for blocking and sticking someone over. you can hate draft or not be as nice or as mean as you want to be. gameplay is jusdt as good at 2 as it is at 4 scales beautifully. hope they release some expansions (the modules in F.O.R)
