I bought this for my brothers not long ago, we’ve played it once, but look forward to playing it again. Value for money: I am new to board games, so while I had thought it was too expensive, it was actually a joy for us to have. I have seen that there are much more expensive games out there. Fun Factor: We loved the choice of characters and their abilities, the ship’s health was extremely exciting, and the choice of actions. We were firing phasers like nobody’s business. BUT, players -need- to realise that “cooperative” doesn’t mean that the team figures out the best possible move for the player, it means that the player is left on their turn to challenge their own skill to form the best possible actions in the interest of the team. Avoid backseat driving, otherwise some players aren’t actually playing. Complexity: There are quick references on the board, cards, and the manual was easy to read. Generally it is very smooth, and gameplay definitely challenges your skill! There was only a couple of times where we needed to read hard - Hull Damage Overflow and Deck Destruction. Replayability: It was extremely exciting in our first game. We look forward to another game. But I am sorry that I cannot confirm retrospectively if this is the case. Quality of Components: WE LOVE IT ALL. We felt like we were part of the ship, we felt like we were in space! Favourite Moment: We managed to have the situation “under control”, if you could call it that, for most of the game. Although, we were kept on our toes! it was thrilling! My favourite moment was when our starship got immobilised just as three elite hostile ships arrived. They tore through our shields and we were on the edges of our seats! We did NOT have this under control and we sweated to get our starship to safety, and it was glorious when we did! I’d recommend this game.
