Zombicide, the board game, has taken the world by storm with over two million copies sold since its release in 2012 and spawning a cult franchise of cooperative zombie slaying all over the world. In Zombicide, zombies are controlled by the game, while players take on the role of survivors who must co-operate in order to survive and thrive in a world overrun by the bloodthirsty undead. Find guns and gear to take the fight to the zombies through 25 different scenarios linked by a branching story as you pick your way through an infested city.

Zombicide (2nd Edition) features refined and streamlined rules, including updates to target priority for ranged attacks, interactions with doors, and vehicle mechanisms. A new dark zone feature, a zone that hides zombies from survivor's attacks, has been added as well. Zombicide (2nd Edition) will include new components and miniatures as well, including plastic dashboards and new child survivors. Returning players will be able to use their existing collection from previous Zombicide releases as well.

It is a fun game. Friends who weren't into board games have become interested thanks to this. The miniatures are decent quality and perfect for painting if you're already I to it or looking for a place to start, but still works very well without it. There are different tones to make the different zombie types distinct so painting isn't required to enjoy the game and differentiate them quickly. I quite like seeing a large grey mass of zombies myself. Base game has plenty to offer and there is tons and tons of fan made content online (as well as developer content) to keep the game interesting and fresh. There are additional expansions that can be bought which create campaign scenarios and character progression. They seem okay, but are definitely bloated on price for what you get. They add a story narrative to follow, additional locations, characters and game mechanics which can enhance the base game experience. There are crossovers with series some people probably really enjoy like The Boys and Supernatural but would recommend these only for super fans of the series or this game as they are also very, very expensive for what they actually add to the game. They do add variety though, which is what some people may want after playing the base game a lot. It's 1-6 players, but not really a true solo experience as the key game functions and missions are balanced for 6 players, which means when playing solo you are controlling all 6 characters (some online scenarios are less). This is not an issue, as the gameplay is simple and intuitive and it is a fun experience still, however I find other solo games far more enjoyable if that's what you're looking for. This game is great for 2, perfect for 3 players, and very enjoyable with 6. Other numbers work, just not as well. It's a fun game to play with friends if you want to chat and laugh and have good experiences. It requires strategy and has some luck elements which make for memorable game moments. You don't need to concentrate too much and might not be a game for someone looking for an intricate strategy system with more depth.
