The Beyblade X release has so much choice, I repeat, SO MUCH CHOICE. With products ranging from the Beyblade X Xtreme Battle set, which is perfect for beginners, to the Beyblade X Soar Phoenix 9-60 GF Deluxe string launcher set, these new variations on Beyblade are enticing for players both old and new. Each model stays true to the original Japanese design and comprises of three parts; the blade, the ratchet and the bit. We love that you can mix and match the Beyblade X collection. A great addition is that the new wave of Beyblade's benefit from being smoother and more responsive due to improved spin mechanics. This helps to keep our game fast paced and competitive, an element emphasised by the new ‘extreme dash’ function. This accelerates the Beyblade quicker then in previous models, which causes them to collide more frequently. We cannot emphasise how much fun we are having with Beyblade X! Not only can you play this incarnation of Beyblade's the traditional way, but you can scan the codes on the Beyblade X tops and battle virtually. This is a great and fun way to keep a record of your collection as well as earn digital rewards online in the all-new app.

Battle it out!

At first glance, it may not look like it, but there are certain skills needed to play when pitting Beyblade against Beyblade. It isn't simply a game of spinning tops! It is a tactical game, where you strategise, plot and alter your spin direction in order to knock your opponent out. As a player you must always plan ahead. The new Beyblade X release still uses the outcomes familiar to players of the original game. Finishes such as ‘the overfinish,’ ‘the spin-finish,’ and ‘the burst finish,’ are recognisable to many. The new wave however, introduces a new finish called ‘the X-treme Finish’ where 3 points are awarded when a Beyblade is knocked in the wide central exit known as the ‘Extreme Zone.’

Prove it in Battle

The 2024 wave of releases includes a thrilling range of attack, defence, stamina, and balance models. The Chaos Cards team are particularly looking forward to battling each other with the Star Wars and Marvel collaborations. The team can’t wait to pit Thanos against Darth Vader! I wonder who will come out victorious? Scott, our Chaos Cards resident Beyblade enthusiast, has a couple of recommendations:

“My first pick would definitely be the Soar Phoenix Deluxe String Launcher set, but other than that I'd also recommend the Scythe Incendio Starter Set. As a Beyblade fan this is the best Beyblade has ever been, its fun and full of action, and battles never feel slow or sluggish like they have in previous generations. Its really capitalizing on past nostalgia from my age group and also its just cool enough to appeal to the younger generations too.”

Let it Rip!

Did you know that the Chaos Cards tabletop store in Folkestone holds Beyblade tournaments? Run by Scott, the battles take place twice a week; on Wednesdays from 6:30pm and Thursdays from 3:30pm. Each event costs £2 per person and is suitable for ages 8+. (this is due to the safety of our players!) The events are run as ‘Double Elimination Tournaments.’ This means everyone has double the chance to prove themselves! Everyone is paired up and if you lose you get a second chance to play after being added to a further knockout tournament. Each game is played as the first to 4 points and there are several ways to score points, they are:

  • Survivor Finish (1 Point), if your Beyblade out spins your opponent’s.
  • Knockout Finish (2 Points), if your Beyblade knocks your opponent’s Beyblade into one of 2 side pockets.
  • Burst Finish (2 Points), if your Beyblade Bursts your opponents, which is when either the Bit or Ratchet becomes detached from the Blade.
  • Xtreme Finish (3 Points), If your Beyblade knocks your opponents Beyblade into the Xtreme pocket.

So, why not pop in during one of the sessions and find out all about the game and the new releases!

The X-Treme Finish.

The Chaos Cards team think this generation of Beyblade's are a perfect refresh for fans of the original game as well as a great starting point for beginners! The Hasbro toys are authentic Takara Tomy tops with die-cast metal parts which are perfect for anyone age 8 and over. There’s a nice nod to Beyblade's of the past, and the new Beyblade X collection really represents an evolution over time. Beyblade's is ultimately a competitive game, so be prepared to spin to the end as the final Beyblade spinning is the victor.

Just don’t let yourself get too dizzy! Let us know what you think about Beyblade X over on our socials. We always look forward to hearing from you.
